the most unrestful sleep... interesting dreams

Due to the events that happened in my life last night (read last post), I managed to have quite the interesting dream-filled sleep...
Let me recap:

Dream 1: I was in a house with my sister when all the sudden the floor started to split apart, like an Earthquake had hit. My sister started yelling at me (I don't recall what about, I just know that she wasn't happy) and in turn I started yelling back.
DreamMoods.com Interpretation:
To dream about an earthquake, "suggests that you are experiencing a major "shake-up" that is threatening your stability and foundation. The dream highlights you insecurity, fears and sense of helplessness"
To dream that you are arguing, "suggests that you are trying to resolve some internal conflict or some unsettled issue in your waking life"

Dream 2: My boss (I know, who dreams of their boss???) was trying to set me up with a co-worker. He made a comment, that went something like "that's how love begins!" And left (as if his matchmaking job was done!) I then sat down beside Andrew (the guy) and made a comment "We must have been pretty obvious (that we like each other)" And Andrew leaned in to kiss me.
I remember thinging it felt weird, so I pulled away to see why... and I realized that Andrew's mouth could only open half way!!! WTF??? ha ha.
DreamMoods.com Interpretation:
To dream of your boss, "represents the bossy or authoritative side of your own personality. Your boss may reveal self-confidence and the assertive aspect of yourself."
To dream of a kiss "denotes love, affection, tranquility, harmony, and contentment."
(I couldn't find anything on the half opened mouth part though! LOL)

Considering what's going on in my life right now, these two dreams are very contradictory!!! I did have a third dream, just before I woke up this morning, but I forget it!!! :( Maybe it's the missing piece of the puzzle!

WELCOME to the Oil Patch!

On Monday, TJ mentioned that he might have to stay out in White Court and work his week off... I didn't think much of it cause I thought it was a long shot, so I didn't let it bug me. (that means he'd be out of town for 5 weeks straight!) Yesterday I texted him to see what the verdict was... He called me back and started the conversation with "Hey Babe! How are you?" (Awe, he called me "Babe" ;) ... I just knew he had bad news.
He said "I won't be coming home now till March 22nd."
"REALLY?" I replied...
"Ya. :( But it's ok, I kinda need the money!"

I totally understand that part. The reason he's out there is mainly to get himself out of debt and maybe have a little left over to save for a house. So, I can't blame the guy for being ok with staying out there. This is a short period of time for a huge financial gain for him.

I then asked "When is spring break-up?" (he would finally get time off)
He said "I'm not going back after this hitch. I'm done after this!"
"And then what?" I asked
"Work in the city!"

YAY!!! No more hitches! :) I'm excited for that to happen.
I guess we will see how things really play out. I hope after his 5 weeks out there he hasn't forgotten what I look like!

The non-existant Find-Me Friday

This blog is hidden pretty damn good! It hasn't come up in any one's Google search (according to StatsCounter.com) since I got the stats counter tracking it! At first I thought I was missing something... then I just realized that I just had NO hits :( Blahhh.

Oh well, at least having NO traffic reading your Blog is better than having the WRONG people reading it! (Yes, that has happened to me one too many times! lol)

It's Friday! ...and then comes Saturday

I have to pack all my gear up tonight and be ready to head out for a 3 hour bus ride to Fernie for snowboarding tomorrow! I hope we get a good day of riding in! I think there is new snow in Fernie too... it should be good!

Turns out this is a "pub crawl" so the drive back could be interesting! LOL I'll be sure to bring my camera to catch anything out of the ordinary ;)

PROMOTION!

I got a PROMOTION! :) Yeeee Haaawww!
And a bonus, AND a raise! :D I rock! lol
Not like I haven't been waiting for this for a while! (Since October! Grrr!)
But better late then never, right?

So, now I have some money to pay off my debts with :) Yaaaa!
(that is if I have any left after the govn't takes their share :( Blahhhh!)

...What to do with such good news, and no one to share it with?
Workout! LOL (you knew I'd say that!)

Snowing like crazy!

It is snowing like crazy here today! The roads were insane this morning, and I was just on the bus!!! (I didn't even want to attempt driving this morning!)

I'm going to start going to TKO class again on Wednesdays... I had stopped because I was going swimming in the evening, but I don't think swimming is giving me what I want, training-wise. I'm not going swimming tonight (my friend is moving and needs time to pack and paint) so I'm on my own as far as my workout goes today. I'm looking forward to it actually! I miss the burn I get from TKO :)

Today is TJ's switch from night shifts to day shifts... he's happy, he gets 24 hours off :) Yay! And that means only 7 more days till he comes home! Double yay!!!

Binge Shopping

Today was family day here in Alberta... so I didn't have to go to work. :)
Instead I went shopping! ... I forgot how weak I am for shopping!!! (I can spend money like it's coming out of a fountain in my back yard!) Today was no exception! Booo.

Good thing for me that I don't make shopping trips very often, but when I do my motto coming out is usually "Go Big or go home!" (and if I went home, I wouldn't have anything to Blog about now would I? lol)

Any advice for a binge shopper???

MY BACK

Oh man, do I need a massage!!! Spending 2 days punching and kicking sure is hard on the ol' shoulders and lats!!! My back is killing! (But it's a good pain! lol)

I can't wait till I have a man to come home to to give me these massages :)
(However, I have been introduced to these foam rollers that do a pretty good job at massaging the knots out too! lol)

SPF

Stuff Portrait Friday...
This post is for Suz... (see her Blog entry about it!)

Under My Bed:
- those are tupperware containers containing socks and PJ's.

My Pots and Pans:
-but more importantly, look at my tiled kitchen floor! :p

My Stereo:
- It's sad... but this is it! (I use my iPod for my musical needs now!)

Almost Kicked my legs off! lol

We did so much kicking today... I think my legs wanted to drop off by about noon! (I'm going to have rock solid glutes after this though :p )
I need to have a bath tonight though as I know I'm going to be super sore in the morning if I don't!

The course is so much fun! Tomorrow we have to display what we have done for homework (we each got given a section of the choreography to learn for tomorrow, that we are going to be video taped preforming! :) Yay! I'll be a celebrity for 3 minutes! ha ha! My track is a boxing track... so it's lots of punches and shuffling... so pretty easy to learn!
I'll be sure to let you know how it goes!

I called TJ tonight... he sounded rough. He had a pretty bad day at work last night. I guess the guy that logs the well was being a total dick and TJ didn't like being treated that way. (I don't blame him!) Men can be jerkoffs at the best of times... get a dozen of 'em up on the rigs, deprived of their women and they become complete ASSES! TJ actually made mention that this might be his last hitch up there. Poor guy! So stressed out! ...He's even stressing about me not replying to texts soon enough... he's delerious! :( I told him why I didn't reply as quickly as I usually do (I was out and I couldn't always hear my phone) so I hope that eased his mind! I had to make it pretty clear to him that I do want to persue him and only him right now! I'm not sure why he thinks I'm still interested in playing the field? I guess that's just going to take time for him to realize that because really we barely know each other yet! Being apart makes it even harder!
The fact that we are both stressing about stupid things so soon... is that a good or a bad sign?

Yoga and Cardio Kick

Tonight I was exhausted! I gave it my ALL in my bike class today! At the end I was just wiped, and wanted to hit the sac! I stayed at work till 5:15, then called it a day when my applications kept screwing up on me! Grrr...
I had some supper and set up to practice my Breathe (Yoga) class... Gawd, I love meditation :)

This weekend is my long awaited "Cardio Kick" certification... 2 - 8 hour days of it!!! Good thing Monday is a holiday!!! I'd need it off anyways, as I know I'm going to be super sore after this one!

Got my call from TJ tonight. I miss him! he said the reason he didn't text me this morning was because he thought I was getting sick of him, and he thought he'd give me a break! LOL (Is he serious??? He doesn't know me very well then... I eat up his texts!!! I LOVE THEM!!!) Anyways, he's good... I like him more and more every time we talk!

Find-Me Friday

I've started a stats counter like Jenn-Jr has... her Find-Me Friday posts are always hilarious. I guess you actually need to have web traffic, to get a find-me search going... we'll see if in a week I get anything.

Honestly, I just need anything to keep me occupied these days... so I don't think about how much I miss hugging TJ :(

Wahh, I'm such a suck. lol

Swimming and what not

Last night me and B. went swimming. (It was frigen cold getting there! We've had a cold snap! Even walking to the bus this morning was not too much fun! ) B. and I went and pumped some weights before we swam, and it sure made a difference to the feeling of my legs after the swimming portion of the workout! DAMN!!! (Luckily the hot tub was open this time so we soothed our overworked muscles for a few minutes after! Ahhh, it was relaxing :)

PS... B. was very happy for me when I told her about TJ. :) Yay!

Aftermath

Feeling overwhelmed today. TJ left to the field for his 2 week hitch (that's what they call it when they are out working on the rigs) I'm sad because things between us are just getting interesting! (Oh well... I guess I have to look on the bright side, he'll be sending me daily cute text messages to keep me on my toes! And that things will just get better when he's finally back home again!)

It's going to be hard to formulate a relationship with someone that is in town for a week and out for 2... but I know I am willing to try!
So this is what it feels like to finally meet someone you click with!!!

V-DAY

It's finally here! :)
Is it weird to miss someone you have just met?
(Weird or crazy??) LOL

I don't think I'm the only one with these feelings... cause I know TJ is feeling awkward about not stepping over any boundaries himself... but it's hard knowing that he's going to be away for 2 weeks at a time! (He's leaving this Wednesday morning for work and won't be back for 2 weeks!I'm going to be so lonely!
(Yeah, right... like I will have time to be lonely! with my training and work schedules!!!)
Luckily we both have our cel phones! :)

Monday Morning Text

This is what it read:
"Have a good day u sexy thing and I'll talk to you later @>-;- "
Guess who it was from? ;) Yup, TJ.

I'm going to buy a black forest cake (one of his favorite treats!) for tomorrow... I think he'll love it! And I have a card for him too, because I want to be his Valentine! :) Awe....

Good things come to those who wait.

Well, well, well. Where do I start off?

I did call TJ from the party and we did get together last night.
We have so much to talk about when we get together it's crazy! I cannot describe it, but it just feels so comfortable and genuine being with him... not unwanted or forced.
He said to me "I have plans on Monday, but what about Tuesday? Do you want to get together then? ... I know, I know, it's Valentines day, but I'd really like to see you again before I go back!"
AWE...
(he has to go back to work, he works on the rigs: 2 weeks on, 1 week off)

So... we are going to do something Tuesday... not sure what yet, cause restaurants are going to be crazy! But I'm sure whatever it will be will work out just fine! I just like being with him!

date that was worth the wait!

Ohh... so much to day, so little time to type!
Last night was my date with TJ at Julio's Barrio. I met him there at 7... he was early, but I was a tad late because Calgary drivers are retarded! lol It was ok, he called me to see where I was, I was just down in the parkade.
I met him in the lobby... He looked just like his pictures, maybe a bit more muscular than I thought.
And the conversation... all I can say is we can sure make each other laugh! It was probably the most comfortable "date" atmosphere (meaning, there was more than a "just friends" vibe there) that I've been on in a long time. He made some comment about how this was probably his best first date ever, and I came back with "So, you mean you like me?" and he goes "Well, I don't normally spend 5 hours with someone I hate. ... wait! Yes, I hate you!"
(we both broke out laughing.)
So, tonight I'm going to a housewarming party where it will be all couples and this morning I get a text from TJ saying "If your party tonight is lame, call me and we can go out again! PS. I hate you ;-) " LOL
(maybe it's only funny to me cause I'm kinda smitten! Leave me alone! lol)

TJ told me some pretty personal stuff about himself... stuff that I don't think you should really bring up on a first date... but for some reason I am not scared off by it. Sounds like he's done a lot of growing up in his past 10 years of life! (He's 28) I guess it's good that he's not that "wild" anymore because I wouldn't be interested if he was... I guess time will tell if he's legit. I'm willing to give him a chance :)

He's bald! ... But cute!

Yep. He showed up to the date wearing a toque. I was pretty sure after that that he was bald. I couldn't resist but ask him what he was hiding under his toque... he said, "Nothing!" lol and took it off, and yup, his head is like Mr. Clean. Bald and shiney. (the stubble is soft though, I couldn't help but rub it once he took off his toque! lol) He's lucky he has a great smile and sense of humor... 2 of my weaknesses.

We went to Joey Tomatoes for dinner, it was very nice. Then we took off to play some games at the Arcade (cause I love getting out and doing something on a date) As we played all the different games I'd pick up my coat and purse and we'd then go off to the next game... Well, in this process my keys managed to work their way out of my pocket and onto the floor somewhere. We left without realizing this and only when I got out to my car did I figure this out ! ACK! We ran back to Joey's, asked the waitress, but they hadn't seen them, then back to the arcade where they were closing up... the attendanct came up to me telling me they were closing very shortly, and I made one last attempt to find my keys, I asked her if any had been turned in... and there they were!!! FUGGGG, loosing my keys would have made this the best and worst first date ever! lol

This date went really well... we are planning another date for next week. :)

but in the mean time...
Tomorrow's adventure: Julio's Barrio with TJ...

another 2 hours well spent

Last night B. and I went to the pool. We both bought ourselves 10-visit punch cards to keep us commited to getting to the pool at least 10 times.
When we started, I wasn't having the easiest time swimming my lengths and I forgot how difficult it was to figure out the whole breathing thing (I always manage to get water in my mouth, YUK!) B. is a lifeguard so she tried teaching me some tips, and I think they helped. By the end, I was able to swim a full length complete without stopping. It felt good!

But the 2 hours well spent wasn't at the pool, it came when I got home. As promised, Sean called! :) We talked for almost another 2 hours... I know, this is getting a little ridiculous. lol
But we are actually going out tonight, so I'll finally get to meet this guy and see if he's all he's made himself out to be in my mind!
(I just hope he's not bald. LOL)

3 hour phone call?

Who talks for 3 hours to a complete stranger? Apparently I do! (ha ha)

I met this guy (Sean) off L.L. about a week ago. He called once before, but I was at work, so we didn't really chat, just a brief Hello. He called me again yesterday (again while I was at work) and luckily he left a message for me to call him back (otherwise I probably wouldn't have cause I didn't recognize the number!) I completely forgot to call him back until I got home from grocery shopping. He sounded happy to hear from me, and we had a lengthy conversation until his cel phone started to die! (ack, I talked his phone to death :( He said he's call me back in 1/2 an hour. He did, and we managed to talk for another 2 hours!!! Midnight is when I got off the phone. (Geeze! I haven't had one of those epic conversations since ... well, a long time! lol)

We talked about every thing from life to death... work to working out. Seems like we have quite a bit in common... and he was thuroughly impressed about my mountain biking prowess (as soon as I started talking bike mechanics, he said "Wow, I'm impressed!!!" ) Who knew my knowledge about derailleurs and cable housing would come in so handy? :)

Anyways, he asked me out for Thursday. I'm really looking forward to it, besides the fact that I've only ever seen a head shot of him! (Yikes, this is almost as bad as a blind date!) He does claim to work out and keep fit, but also admitted to doing almost no cardio... so I know he's muscular. (Not my usual type... we'll see.) He used to race mountain bikes he says... so he can't look that bad :)

I'll keep you posted!

inspired

I was inspired by BEADJUNKIE to make a new piece of jewellery.
I made a bracelet... what do you think? --->
It's a little bit ruffled, because the beads don't fit together perfectly... but I think it has character :)
(the black spotted beads are blue goldstone.)
*note: new pic.

yoga is where it's at!

Friday I had nothing to do, so since the gym closest to my house is open till 11, I decided to take my yoga mat there and spend a few hours working on my poses. It was so helpful, doing the yoga with mirrors around you so you can actually see your form, and make that mind body connection! I feel much better about my technique! Now it's just a matter of perfecting the choreography so I can teach :) (which should take no time at all!)

I think I will work on that tonight before I go to bed! Stretching before bed, I've noticed, allows me to have a much better sleep!

Friday, February 03, 2006

...and then it was Friday!

Yes, one more day of work!

What's weird is that my knee got progressively better as the day went on yesterday... and today it feels like it was never sore! 100% Strange indeed. (I'm not complaining mind you, it's just very weird!)

Last night I did a massive purge of my file cabinet (cause I don't even use it anymore that's how full it is!) I have an entire bankers box full of old receipts and bills from YEARS and YEARS ago... How long are we really supposed to keep that stuff anyways? What a waste of paper.

And how do I go about recycling this stuff so that my identity is secure? Basically I want to burn it all, but I know that's probably not an option. Any ideas???

sore knee and other things that kept me at home today

I had an interesting little mess to clean up last night. I could hear a hissing sound but wasn't sure what it was, so I check it out (it's coming from the furnace room). Turns out the hose to the furnace humidifier was touching the duct going out of the hot water heater and slightly melted a hole in the hose... water was spraying everywhere! Nice!

It also tripped my furnace, so I had to reset it, and all is well again. Wrapped the hose in electrical tape and I've had a fan running in that room all night.

What a gong show my life can be sometimes.

But I really am home because I had some knee pain last night and into this morning. I figured it was a sign to stay off my feet today. So, I've iced it and now I'm resting it. Ahhhh, rest!

my new GREEN yoga mat :)

I have tried to do my yoga in my living room on the laminate without a mat, and man, that floor is hard on your knees!!! I went and got a yoga mat last night and it made the hour go by like a breeze! And no more sore knees :)

I got a 1/4" thick mat... so it's a little more rigid than most yoga mats, but so much more cushiony!!! I love it!

But I'm feeling my lower back again today. Must be strengthening my lower back by doing all these funky poses... this is a good thing!!! I need to do it more!
