Just say NO to shoulder stand!

I went to brunch with 3 girls from work, and afterwards, I hit the gym for some yoga. It was really intense today, I had to back out of many poses because she was getting us to hold them for too long and my legs were giving out! We finished the day with 'shoulder stand' pose and it just made me feel fat! I feel like I've gained a lot of 'flesh' on my backside that I've never really noticed before, until I had to push myself up into shoulder stand. :( I think I need more cardio and less yoga right now.
My routine needs something to spice it up... any suggestions?

R.I.P DVD

My DVD player decided to croak Tuesday night... Unfortunately it had one of my 'Namaste' yoga DVD's in it and it would not give it up! That made me a little upset. Lucky for me, Collin is a bit of a whiz when it comes to electronics (he learned a lot from his Dad) so he managed to gut my DVD player and successfully remove my beloved DVD unharmed!
But now, the DVD player is useless. Crap!
I have to relplace it ASAP because Im supposed to be learning my new fitness choreography... and I can't do that very well unless I can see it!
Collin wants to get a big fancy entertainment system... I'm not really sure yet. I don't even have cable tv, but a nice stereo system would be nice! Maybe I'd watch more TV if I had a flat screen... what do you think? (I guess watching MORE tv isn't a good thing to strive for, is it? LOL)

They picked some of MINE!

I am going to get to help create the choreography for a couple of tracks on the next BREATHE release!!!! I'm sooo pumped because I've thought I could do this for a while, there was just never an openning for me to get involved!
I get to help with the Leg Strength Track (basically yoga warrior poses) and the Folds Track (pre-meditation track, should be way easy to do!) I even get to choreograph song that I submitted :) "Dare you to Move" by Switchfoot & "Teardrops" by Massive Attack. I have started on it today, pulling the song apart, verse by verse... this is the hardest part! Putting the choreography together should be a sinch!

Wish me luck!

Beading Wednesdays

--I've decided to make Wednesday nights Bead Night... weither it be teaching a class or making some personal jewellery. I think I need to schedule it in otherwise it will never happen.
So far, I've managed "Bead Wednesdays" since the beginning of the month (March 7th, 14th and now the 21st.) Hopefully it doesn't fall off the calendar for something else. I really do enjoy my bead nights!
Tonight I'm teaching my beaded heart pendant class... (see photo) :) So pretty!

Sunday BBQ!

Here, in Calgary, it was +16oC today! Perfect weather for our first Spring BBQ! And since Collin's mom has been asking "When are you going to invite us for dinner at your place?" I figured this is my opportunity to have Collin's family over finally. (It was actually good that they came, because it FORCED me to do some cleaning and rearranging that I've been meaning to do for a very long time now.)
We had tenderloin beef steak, baked potatoes and salad... followed with these homemade chocolate chip butter cookies that Lianne made... that I'm sure didn't help with the weight loss plan. (But yummy, none the less!)

Now, I need to get to doing my taxes... I really hate this time of year. My only saving grace this year is that I maximized my RRSP contributions... because I have exercised quite a few stock options which really hurts this time of year. Here's hoping I break even and don't owe the govn't a cent!

I wore my hair in Mindies today. ("Na-Neu, Na-Neu") ...I feel like a kid again! :) This used to be my FAVORITE hair style when I was younger! I think I'm gonna 'bring Mindies back'! LOL

...And I stepped on the scale at the gym today, and lost 3 pounds. Gotta LOVE water retension! Grrrrrr....

Feeling puffy.

Well, I wore my new favorite skort to the gym today (as a participant) and as I saw myself in the mirror I was like "Who's that chubby girl?" Ugh!

Since I started SparkPeople (like a month ago)... I've actually gained weight!!! (... and I'm consiously trying NOT to!!! ....That is the part that is extremely deflating to me :( )

I have no idea what is wrong with my body right now!
NO.IDEA.

Beading Friend

I wore one of my necklaces to the gym when I was teaching Breathe, and I got a compliment from one of the participants. I told her I made it and she said "I make jewellery too!" We quickly decided to exchange phone numbers and we've made a "bead date" (lol) for tomorrow night.
She then emailed me and said that she invited hersister to come and an old friend of hers, Keith McPearson ...who btw was in the top 20 of Canadian Idol contestants one season (don't know which one???) to come over and hang out with us too!
Unfortunately, it turns out he's only in town for a few days and had already made other plans for Wednesday night. I'm kinda glad, actually... I don't know how comfortable I'd feel beading in front of a guy as he's seranading us! (lol... because that's what she said he was going to do!)

I'm excited to have a beading posse again! YAY!
