Snow Day!

I took a snow day today, I just don't think it's worth attempting to fight the snow drifts and freezing temperatures (-32oCelcius, but -44oC with the windchill!!!)
I don't have too much pressing work to do at work anyways... But I will check my email from home! (Working??)

I was given a book from my friend called "Maui Revealed" which is a guide book of the island of Maui written by the locals. It's great, and chock full of so much useful information (and maps!) This will be a great resource for planning our days activities!!!

(And trust me, with these temperatures I am SO ready to sit on a beach!!!)

Holiday! Celebrate!

I am FREAKING OUT right now! Collin confirmed to me that he's allowed to take a week off of his holidays (paid) in February! So, we're going to MAUI!!! I'm so excited!!!
(OK, I thought we were going to Maui until I found out how much Maui costs! Holy crapola! The flight alone would be around $1700 per person! WTF? I had no idea Hawaii cost so much to get to! )

Currently, we have about a month to get all our shizz in order, so hopefully we figure out where we want to go and what we want to do by then... I'm thinking a Travel Agent is required for this trip, especially since neither Collin nor I has ever gone on an over-seas trip yet.
Anyone got any advice on travel agents?

Where ever we end up going, I know this is going to be a Bon Voyage!!!! :)

Another week, in review

Man! This summer if just flying by! Already July is half over... I can't believe it! (I guess that's because this is also the time of year for weddings, and I've been quite busy with my brothers! We had a great weekend in Leduc at my brothers wedding reception. I got to see a bunch of relatives that I rarely see anymore. It was good talking to my grandparents, knowing that my Grandma is taking good care of my Grandpa he's in good hands! I hope I take after her! She's a machine!!!) And, now that it's all finished, I hope to get back to enjoying the summer sun (which we've been getting a LOT of!) and doing a lot more outdoor activities (mountain biking, rollerblading, hiking, etc). I have given the gym a lot less days avaliability for teachig classes this summer so this will leave me plenty of time for PLAYING. I can't wait to get busy playing! :)

I'm also planning a couple trips in August: August long weekend, I'm going to Cold Lake to visit my best friend and her husband in Cold Lake, August 15th to 20th (tentatively) is when I'm planning to go to Nanaimo to visit my sister and her family. (It appears that I have a lot of vacation days avaliable to me between now and June30th, 2008 so I may as well use them up, right?)

My week, in review.

I am a bit sore today. We (a couple girl friends and I) went mountain biking on Sunday... it was a 13km loop... my legs were tired after that. Then Monday night I taught my Strong class (weights) so my legs were getting really sore! And today I decided to run on the treadmill for 35 minutes... but then followed that up with 15 minutes of stretching my sore muscles. Stretching felt good, and I do feel better now then I did this morning!

Yesterday was also my work Stampede event. We got to go to the rodeo! It was a blast! I did have to leave the grounds early (to teach my class) but I had a great time with my collegues in the grand stands! (I have a few pics to post, but still need to DL them to my computer!)
One poor bull rider was launched in the air by the bull he was riding! It was just like in the cartoons! I couldn't believe it! The cowboy managed to walk away from the incident, but I'm sure he's a hurting unit today! Poor guy!

I'm leaving to Leduc tomorrow for a few days of RnR with my family. Ahhhh...

Vacation is good!

I am on vacation, hence the lack of blogging. Sorry!!!

My Vacation has been great so far! I've had a few sunny days already and even managed to get slightly burnt one day! (lovely! no, really, it is :) Today we are going shopping with both my niece and nephew, which my sister says is "always a challenge"! Let's see how I handle this one... :) Since they are not my kids, I'm sure it'll be fine!

Well, I'm off to get ready for my day! Take it easy bloggers!

Gearing up for Vacation!!!

I'm getting really excited for my vacation! Only 2 more days of work, then I get a couple days to pack and prepare for my flight! :) Yay! I really think my body will thank me for this down time.

Also, I'm excited to help my sister prepare Paige's birthday party! (She turns 5 on May 18th, but I'll be getting there May 20th, so she decided she could have a late birthday party in order for her auntie to be there to celebrate too! What a doll!) It will be so much fun!

I also can't wait to do yoga everyday with Paige, and to help Noly play with his trains (or whatever he's into now)! Just spending time with my niece and nephew are way up there on my priorities list of things to do on this vacation! (Oh, also I'm going to bring my kit of beads... and maybe make a few necklaces... I've been really eager to make some projects for ME!)

Oh, and Happy Hump Day everyone!

Cracked out!

I went to the Chiropractor this am, despite feeling a bit better when I woke up. (I still have a feeling this neck pain won't go away until I get the root of the problem addressed!) I already feel a tonne better, and I know after a few more visits I'll feel 100% again.
I find it so amazing that your body can still function when it's so out of alignment!

10 more days till I fly out to see my sister and her family! I can't wait! Hopefully it's not raining spring showers for my whole visit... but at this point, I really don't even care if it did! RnR never sounded so good to me, then right now!

Just another Tuesday

So, I found out today that the Union and the City are going into another "talk" today and if they can't come to any agreement, then the looming strike will take effect in 72 hours... Ugh! I really hope NOT! I hate when my schedule get's screwed with!

But I also found out that due to my age, I am entitled to another week of vacation time! (Gotta love it when they revise the vacation practices and it actually benefits you!! :)
Speaking of vacation, less then 2 more weeks till I fly out to see my sister and her family! I can't wait! (Jenny, you'll have to set me up with a chiro. appointment while I'm there!)
