FAME Canadian Nationals 2008

I spent quite a few hours this weekend watching the FAME 2008 Canadian Nationals Fitness, Muscle and Body Building comp. It was very exciting for me and I am even MORE excited to enter my OWN competition in April 2009 now!!! The girls made it look so easy up there on stage! ...but I think, if I was in the same shape as they are (meaning, a diet of cutting carbs and then cutting water for 2 days prior to showing) I would have been pretty confident out there too!

(#747) did exceptionally well, considering this was her FIRST show! She placed 3rd (out of a field of 14 girls) in her Muscle Model category!!!

I was absolutely THRILLED for her! She wins a plaque with her placing, a professional photo from the event and the bragging rights that she placed 3rd in the 2008 Muscle Model Category! (And she has only been training for this for 3 months prior to the event! WOW!)

The next show is on April 25th, 2009, and I am planning to be in it... so that means I have 27 weeks to shape myself up to STAGE QUALITY! (Granted, I am going on a 2 week long vacation in January, so I really hope that I can make sure that does not screw up my progress!!!)

In ALL reality, I probably could have entered this competition in the body building category and placed pretty well... but next year, I'll be way more confident! WOOT!

A little weekly recap

I FINALLY decided to wear my latest 'Le Chateau' purchase: this black jumper/pencil skirt and turquoise silk top! Don't you just love it? (I bought the exact same dress in Febuary in size LARGE... I am happy to say, I am wearing a size SMALL today!!!)

So... I was asked if I wanted to train for a fitness competition by a PT at the gym... she specifically came up to me and said "I'd LOVE to train you!" (This woman is a HUGE inspiration of mine... she has already competed in a couple fintess competitions that I know of for sure! (Fame 2007 and 2008) and won at both events!

I think this is a sign... I was JUST thinking "Maybe I should get a personal trainer to take me to the *next level*"... I mean, I have basically acheived my weight loss goal! (In record time, I might add!) And I'm READY to do even more!
