The Pollution Solution

...My mom is smarter than I give her credit sometimes :)

I was reading the Can-Fit-Pro magazine (Jan/Feb. Issue) and there was an article in there about how plastic containers are silently toxifying our bodies, leaching lipophilic toxins ("fat loving") into the foods you eat that your liver cannot process. In turn your liver begins to shut down, as does your ablitiy to loose weight.

My mom used to always say "Sweat out the toxins"... she is totally right! They are advocating using the new technology low-heat Infared sauna to promote eliminating these toxins via your sweat. (My mother also had my brother sit in front of a red light bulb to make his pimples go away... and you know what, they did!!!)
After reading this article I now understand the reasoning behind it, and why this "sauna therapy" actually works!

Mom, you're a genius! :)

That sounds so gross! My mom is always telling me to stop using plastic containers in the microwave because "they're POISONOUS!!!"

I haven't been using plastic containers in the Mic for years. ALso, i just read an interesting article about bottled water being full of toxins (can't remember their exact name) and the longer the water stays in the bottle the more of them are in the water. I don't drink bottled water anymore either, unless it's in my nalgene and I put it in there.

It's not just thte microwave, it's just having the plastics in contact with the foods we eat. The article said "A rule of thumb is if the food stains the plastic, the plastic stains the food" meaning it is leaching into it.

But how can we avoid plastic containers this day in age? I guess this is why exercise to sweat out those unavoidable toxins is so important :)

Happy Sweating :)
