Fun in K-Country

Yesterday I went on a team building/guest entertaining event to a Ranch in Kananaskis. (My new group works on what is called a Joint Venture, which means we have a partner who has a 50% interest and charge for the work that we do. Our partners on the Chad project are from Bejing, China) To give them a taste of our lifestyle in the West, we took them out to a ranch in K-Country for a horseback ride, a steak lunch followed by a few games of horseshoes. It was a beautiful day for all that activity! Sun was shining, a nice breeze... PERFECTION) I took lots of nice pics... have to upload them to the net yet though.

I got home and went for pho (Vietnamese food) and a rollerblade with Bryanne. I had to break in my new K2 rollerblades. I wasn't actually too impressed with them after the first blade... they felt MUCH slower then my old hard boot blades. I have no idea how the bearings in the new blades compares to the old ones... but for some reason they are underperforming my ANCIENT Rolelrblades. :( Does anyone have any ideas regarding this topic? Should I ride my new blades more, maybe I'm just not used to them? Jenny... do you remember what ABEC the Rollerblades have? Or the wheel size? I think I'll be heading back to Sport Mart with both pairs of rollerblades, and seeing what the shop guy has to say. I'm kinda dissapointed with my new blades at this point. :(

And last night I got together again with Darren (ice climber guy, my date from Sunday night) He's so cute! But MAN... he talks a lot! (Any of you that know me, knows that I can talk A LOT myself... but when I hang out with Darren I feel like a mute! LOL ... but seriously. I kind of feel like my voice doesn't get the workout it requires when we chat... which could be a problem!) We just met up for a coffee and a chat. It was nice! I really do think he's a pretty great guy!
Let's see where this goes!

Dont' worry about the new blades, the bearings may be tight because they are new... give them a few weeks of good use and see how they fare- if not good, return them...!

Glad the new guy is nice- excess chatter is okay as long as it's not "I did... then I went. You would love my... My car is great, you should have my... blah blah me, I, my..."
You know what I'm saying.

I hear ya on the "me, my, I..." chatter. It's not really that.

He's a self professed IT geek... and sometimes it shows! He's also out to save the children of Africa from their situation, and wants to go out and help them. He just talks alot about his friends, and his stuff... I feel like I don't get to talk about mine unless I interject with a "Yeah, this one time..." Gawd... that's pathetic now that I think about it!
Why wouldn't he ask me more questions about ME?

Well, as far as I'm concerned that qualifies and Me my and I convo.
When you meet new people you should be all about them...
He sounds a little self absorbed??

"oh that reminds me, this one time, in band camp..."
