New Do!

I'm getting super excited for my hair cut this weekend!
I've got an appointment with Keri-Lyn. I have never met this woman before in my life, so I have no idea what I'm getting myself into... but I'm in dire need for a new hair style! (As you can tell fron the photo of me above! I think I look way better with short hair!!!)
I don't actually have a regular hair dresser right now, I'm kinda on the search for the perfect one for me! Hopefully I managed to get lucky this time and she can work good with my hair!

I am hoping to end up with a haircut like this:

Victoria Beckham

What do you think?

Blogger Play

I've always been really into reading people's Blogs. A lot of my regulars have been slacking lately (I won't mention any names, I'm sure you know who you are ;) I was trying to figure out how to search out Blogs that I might find interesting. I found this thing called Blogger Play... It's a link that shows the most recent photos posted to Blogger... it's like a photo ticker of random people's posted pictures! It's fun just to watch it, but more importantly, if you click on the pic, it takes you to the actual Blog post! I have found a few interesting blogs because of it!

PS... Does anyone else know where I go to search for blogs about things that I might be interested in reading about?

Full moon of emotions?

Last night I had a mini-meltdown (mini because it only lasted about 45 minutes)
I had come home from work at my regular time, but I knew I had to eat and get changed fast for my 7:00 weight class, so I was rushing! Well, usually rushing means forgetting about something, and I forgot about my food! And burnt it on the stove! Shizzz! Oh well, I scraped off all (ok, most) of the carsinogens and proceeded to eat my burnt dinner before I left. (I knew my clothes (and the house!) wreaked of burnt toast, but what could I do?

I proceeded to go to class as usual (no one commented on my new aroma, thank goodness!) I got home a little later then usual because I got caught up talking to a member on my way out of the gym. When I finally did get home, I was worried that Collin might think the house was on fire so as soon as I got in the house I said "Collin, guess what? I burnt 2 slices of toast before I left for my class today!" And he replied in a fairly agressive tone "That doesn't surprise me!"
Instantly I thought, "Does he think I'm a complete idiot all the time?" And without a second thought, I stormed upstairs to cry my eyes out! I was MAD!

I proceeded to have a shower and then tucked myself in to bed and cryed some more... I was hoping Collin would come upstairs to check on me to see why I wasn't coming downstairs to cuddle... Finally after I got back up and went to blow-dry my hair, I see Collin emerge into the bathroom "What's wrong, My Love?" he asks. "You are!" I said bauling! "If you are having a bad day, why are you taking it out on me???" And I explained why I was so upset. He sincerely apologized and said "I never meant for that remark to make you feel bad! What I meant was "I know, I can smell it!" ... I wish he'd have just SAID that!

I told him next time he hurts my feelings I'm just going to call him out, and be like "Shut up, *sshole!" LOL That might clue him in that what he's saying isn't appropriate, you think?

I'm blaming this rush of emotions on the full moon that's on it's way in!

Cousin's wedding

I went to Edmonton for a cousin's wedding this past weekend. It was really nice (my second outdoor wedding!) The weather was fairly co-operative for this time of year (it was a little windy and cold but at least it didn't rain on us!) so the bride (my cousin) was very thankful for that.

I put together a short montage of the pictures I took throughout the day and into the night! I think it turned out very beautiful... I am going to give it to my cousin as a surprise so I will be sure to post it once she has seen it first!

VV Boutique

I had the day off today, so I planned to sleep in and run a few errands... which included buying some new clothes! (I have to admit, I've gained some weight since I met Collin and my clothes are very ill fitting now because of it! So off to shop for some FAT clothes I go!)

As unexcited as I am to shop for fat clothes, I decided to soften the blow by going to a thrift store so at least I don't end up paying a small fortune for these clothes that I don't really want to buy!
MAN, I miss shopping at Thrift stores!!! I got 5 pairs of work pants, and 2 pairs of jeans for $55.00 including GST! What a deal! (I could have spent more, but I had to pee really bad, and I couldn't bare to try on any more clothes in that state!) I will have to make another trip to VV Boutique (when I've got an empty bladder) to pick up some shirts next time.

(Or I could just try loosing 10 pounds. ...If it were only THAT easy!)

Allergic to my own sweat?

This is so weird... I have slowly discovered I am allergic to my own sweat!
...Luckily not all the skin on my body is, just certain areas; like most recently, the skin from the corner of my lip (including my lips) to my chin, has broken out in a rash. This only happens when I do activities outside, that make me exert enough energy to start sweating from my face (lips). I am not sure if it's because I wipe the sweat off with my gloves (which I wash after every ride, perhaps allergic to the detergent) or if there's hormones that come out in my sweat that the delicate skin on my lips can't handle!
Whatever it is, I feel like Ronald McDonald... with my big, red, glowing lips! (That's HOT! lol)

R U ANIMOTO?

This is the coolest thing I've found on-line in a while. (Actually my sister brought it to my attention) A site called ANIMOTO allows you to upload photos and music and then the software mastches them up together in a music video type of layout. Check out some of my current attempts* :
The kids - My neice and Nephew
Collin and I
Old Family Photos

(*please note, I am currently using the free version of the site, therefore can only create 30second clips! I'm SERIOULY considering paying the $30.00 per year for this service though!)

Dinner Guests

Last night Collin and I had his Mom and sister over for dinner. It was nice... but what would have been nicer is if Collin didn't have to drive to pick them up AND drop them off at home after(it's an hour round trip, from our new house to their house!) Someone in that family needs to get a drivers liscence! I'm seriously so over driving them around! (At least we don't do that very often!)
It was the first time Collin's Mom has seen our new place, so she was pretty open with the compliments! I know she wishes she could have a nice big house like we have (she's currently in a 4-plex, which is very cramped, and was only supposed to be a temporary thing)
...that's a whole other can of worms, that I could get into, but won't! I'm just happy that Collin isn't totally like his Dad. (He's not my favorite person in the world, that's for sure!)

I CAN cook!!! :)

The Chicken Tetrazzini was awesome! I did a little altering to the Kraft recipe... and it turned out perfect! (Collin wasn't as huge a fan of it as I was, I think he's crazy! lol)
I used rotini instead of spaghetti (easier to serve), I modified the sauce from one can of chicken broth to one can of mushroom soup (more flavor) and 1/2 packet of chicken boullion plus 1 can of water. As for the veggies, I swapped out the mushrooms for brocolli. (at Collin's request!)
MmmmMmmmMmmm!
What's even better, is that it makes more then enough for 2, so I have seperated some servings for lunches! :) (Not a good idea to eat pasta for every meal, but once in a while doesn't hurt!) I bet it will taste EVEN BETTER as leftovers!!! I'll let you know after lunch.

Another showing

I showed my condo to another renter last night. He really liked the place, but said the rent might be a bit to much for him. He said he'd let me know today... He still hasn't phoned, so I expect he won't.
I saw my Fitness Coordinator today before my class, and we got to talking about my new place. I mentioned that I'm still seeking a renter for my condo, and she mentioned to me that there is a PT manager coming here from out of town that will be looking for a place to rent. Hmmmm... She suggested I talk to our PT manager about it. (I will definitely do that once the day is over, and if I've still recieved no call!) So, all in all I'm not too worried... the right renter will want to rent it soon!

I'm going to try my luck at cooking again tonight... (Scary, I know. Because on Monday night, Collin and I ate raw veggies because I just can't cook. It sucked h.a.r.d. c.o.r.e!)
Since it's going to be a rainy, cool kinda evening I've decided to make something outta pasta.... Thanks to KraftCanada.com... I'll be attempting Made-Over Chicken Tetrazzini.

Wish me luck, with my track record... I'll probably need it! ;)

Officially broken-up

Collin calls me today to tell me that his friend Mike and his gf are officially dunzo! And now Mike is looking for a place to stay... TILL JANUARY! ..... What the?
I wasn't even looking forward to Mike living with us for 1 month, now it's turned into 4!!! I don't know about this anymore. I mean, I do want to help the guy out, but... him living with me and Collin in our new house for 4 months just seems uncomfortable!
What happens when I leave for the weekend?... And what about supper-time? Does he expect me to cook for him too, or if not, does he expect to make his meals in the kitchen while I'm trying to make mine???

Ugh... this whole situation is giving me a headache!

Bridal Shower Weekend

I drove up to Edmonton on Friday for my cousin Bradley's Bridal shower. She was very happy about the amount of people that came and it was a really fun time! It was nice to see Bradley. She's looking good (as usual) and pretty excited to get her family started! (She said one of the first things she wants to do after she get's married is start having kids!) She's only 25 so I was kinda shocked by her attitude towards that, but I guess everyone's got their own ideas about their future! Her fiance is in school to become a doctor, so I'm sure they'll be set for life once he's done his schooling. Lucky Girl! :)

New Tenant?

I had a woman call me who was very interested in seeing my condo... she actually called twice since I missed her first call altogether somehow! (not uncommon, actually!) So I met her at my condo yesterday around 6:45.
She got a little lost getting to the condo, so I was trying to give her directions which was just a complete mess! lol She finally arrived at the condo and parked like a total woman! LOL (She could have just drove into the spot nose first, but instead, she tried to parallel park, and ended up many feet away from the curb and put her hazards on! (WTF?)
Anyways, once she got out of her Santa Fe, she apologized for being lost and shook my hand... I introduced her to Collin and we proceeded to show her the condo. She loved the place right off the bat (actually, she loved the fact that the outside of the building is pink! Who is this woman??? ) She really rushed through the condo, (considering she told us she's a home inspector, I'd have expected her to spend a little more time checking out the finer details, whouldn't you?) I even noted that she didn't even go into the ensuite bathroom... Did she not care if I had a mold problem? Did she just assume that since the main floor looked clean that the rest of the place was? Again, seemed ODD!
She did have concerns that her boyfriend's truck would not fit in the parkade (as did I) so I took her out there to check it out. We determined that it would infact NOT fit, so he'd have to park his work truck on the street. (Ugh... not my favorite idea, considering what happened to Collin's work truck!) But she called her BF to see if that would be ok, and he said OK.
At that point she was ready to hand me over a cheque for the damage deposit, and I had to simmer her down. "Uh... I'd like you to fill out some paperwork first, as I don't really know who you are!" I said. "Of course", so she hands me her drivers license... which looked very legit!
She then said "Ok, no pressure, I'll leave you with my buisness card, and tomorrow we can get together to fill out the paperwork... and I'll bring my BF then too so you can meet him."

Ahhh... I'm feeling so much pressure. I also noticed (from her raspy voice, mostly) that she was a smoker (then I saw the proof: smokes and lighter in her vehicle) I definitely didn't want a smoker living there... So what do I do??? Wait for another potaential renter, one more suited to my wants? Or do I ask her politely to not smoke in the condo (yeah, right... I can't see that happening!) and hope she will be a decent person and obey my wishes??? (I also used Canada411 and Telus Phone Book to check out the credentials on her apparent "business", and I seem to be finding different information in the different sources that I check... I'm not fully convinced it's legit! How can I find out for sure??? HELP!

This girl just wants to bead!

I just want to take a day off to get finished my new samples for my classes that I'm teaching at Suzie-Q Beads. It seems in the evening when I plan to do them, things just come up! (Like last night, Collin decided to invite his friend Mike over for supper... to cheer him up and show off the new digs :) So instead of beading, I spent the evening making Salsa Chili (which I love) and then till 9:15 we talked with Mike about his failing relationship with his girlfriend! (Poor guy, he really is in a bad place in his life right now!)

After he left, Collin kept saying how bad he felt that Mike has to drive out to Crossfield (North of the City) to stay with his parents till he and his GF sort out their issues. Collin even asked if we could let Mike stay with us for a while, to make it easier for him to get to work in the morning.
*a flag is raised*
Don't get me wrong, I do like Mike and know he'd probably be a good house guest, but I am a little skeptical of this idea. I mean, if I let him stay for a few weeks, what's stopping him from staying a month or longer??? And what I really don't want is him making his problem, MY problem too!!! (I don't want to have to kick him out, so I guess we'd have to have some CLEAR rules and terms!)

Does that make sense? or am I just being selfish?

Feeling very stoopid!

How frustrating is this?
I went out to buy a new bedspread today, because the one we currently have is too small for our bed (it is a double bedspread and our new bed is a queen) so I found this great deal on a queen bed-in-a-bag at Sears today. BUT... I forgot that our new bed is not only a queen size, but it also has an extra thick matress. (...which means standard queen sheets and bed spreads won't fully cover the matress!)

So I guess now I could use this set on the spare bed (which is a double) and go out and buy a NEW duvet that will fit and cover my matress! Do they even sell such a thing? or am I screwed?
