The new pictures are UP : Flickr

Here they are... the NEW PICS.
Enjoy and comment on them if you can!
I love comments!!!

hectic week, no time to post

Things around here have been insane! I'm busy just trying to keep my schedule straight! Ugh! And on Monday, the girl that I said she could sub my STRONG class, forgot about it and didn't show up! Geeze! I hate that! At least this time it wasn't MY fault! I hope next week the members don't get too upset with me... I'll have to explain to them the problem! I'm sure they'll understand.
Tonight I teach a beaded ring class. I thought I taught it last week, so I showed up to the store and there was no one there! Gad... These are the kind of things that stress me out!
Suzin changed the date without confirming it with me first, so my schedule was wrong! Boo!
Oh well, I'll make up for it today! :)

I will hopefully get a chance to put up all the other images I took from my trip to Nanaimo. However, if you go check out my sister's Flickr account you'll see that we just missed the excitement of snow! LOL (Not like we don't get enough of it here in Alberta.)
For example, this past week started off with temperatures of -29oC, but with the wind chill it felt more like -40oC.
Why do I live in Alberta again?

I hope you are all staying warm!!!

Trip to Nanaimo

One more sleep :)

...and Collin and I are off to visit my sister and her beautiful family in Nanaimo, BC.
I woke up this morning to the news that Japan had an 8.1 level earthquake that potentially could send a Tsunami twards the BC coast... EEEK! I was a little freaked. I honestly said a little prayer before I got out of bed to google the news. The news was infact true! I had to call Jenny to see if things were ok!
I tried calling my her home #. No answer... I try her cel... still no answer. I left her 'Tsunami messages' on both calls. She called me back at work, laughing at me, telling me "I was sleeping and just got up... What Tsunami?"
... apparently they called off the "Tsunami Alert" because there was no longer a threat.

I sure wish the media wouldn't blow things out of proportion... here I was thinking my sister might at any time be engulfed by a huge tidal wave.... and I'm wayyyy off! (Or maybe it's just my over-active imagination.)

Get in the game!

Collin came home with 2 tickets to todays Flames Hockey game! :) Yay!!! I can't wait to go!

The Flames are somewhat on a roll lately, winning the last 5 games in a row!!! I hope that by us being in the Dome tonight, we don't jinx them! Collin swears when he watches them play, they tend to loose!
Let's hope not!!! GO FLAMES GO!!!

Stranger than Fiction

I went to see the movie "Stranger than Fiction" with Will Ferrell and Maggie Gyllenhaal over the weekend.. it was pretty good. A lot less funny then I was expecting, there was actually a more deep story line to this one. Collin said "It was ok." which really means he liked it. (Collin doesn't really get too excited about anything!) I think it was also good... made me think, that's for sure! (When you are starting to feel like you are falling in a rut, or that your life has no direction... you either do something about it to change your situation... or don't.
It's all about being happy!)

*****

I'm getting ready for my trip to Nanaimo to visit my sister and her family on Thursday. (Collin and I are making the 12 hour road trip to the Island... fingers crossed for good weather and that the roads are clear!) I really can't wait for them to meet Collin and for Collin to meet them. :) I figured the sooner the better, in this case.. because you never know what kind of curveball life is going to throw ya.

I need to get some work done here. Sorry this post is so short!

Remember...

I got today off for Rememberance Day. I don't think anyone in my immediate family faught in any wars... but I realize there are a lot of families who have!
We should bow our heads today for a moment to remember those who faught for our freedom!

I have decided to FINALLY get to all the mending that has been piling up. I managed to hem 3 pairs of pants, replace 3 lost buttons and fix the straps of two tank tops! Wow, I'm a regular Martha Stewart! LOL
It feels good to fix your own clothes and not have to rely on an expensive seamstress to do it for you! ... I'd like to thank my Mother for teaching me these skills :)

the flu?

Have been feeling overly achy lately. And last night I started feeling a little "scratchy" in my throat. I think these are all signs of the flu! :( I have to take it easy, and get some rest... I don't want to be sick for my mini-vacation to Nanaimo! (We leave in a week :)

Last night I was asked to go for drinks by a colleague. He was a little more friendly then usual. I feel really gross just thinking about it. He asked me, "Jessica, do you like to party?"... in my experience "do you like to party?" doesn't mean "party" in the traditional sense of the word. I think he was quite drunk when he asked me that... either way, I was not impressed!!! I told Collin about it, and he didn't really say anything. I think I need to put on a fake engagement ring or something. (Or maybe wear a sign that says "Back Off Creep!" LOL)

I can't wait to sleep in tomorrow :)

Slow week turned into another busy one!

I think I need to slow down! I do too much then everything suffers because I can't put 100% of my effort into anything! :( I teach Yoga tonight, hopefully that calms me down!

And sometimes I make work for no reason: example 1 - I needed a stamp to send an envelope to the US. All I have are stamps with enough postage for within Canada, and I figured by putting 2 of them on my letter I'd be wasting a fair chunk of change... turns out the difference is 8 cents. 8-bloody-cents... I wasted energy going to the post office to save 8 cents? Am I retarded? (Don't answer that! LOL) I guess the Canadian dollar is doing better then I thought these days :)

I have a funny story to tell you about a man trying to cook. This man's name is Collin! LOL I teach classes late (till 8:30pm) every Monday night. I asked Collin if he could make supper last night. He agreed, as long as I "left detailed instructions on how to make it!" (We decided to have Chicken Stirfry in case you were wondering) I figured Collin is a competent, resourceful guy... no problem, "he'll have dinner ready for me when I get home, YAY!"
Ummm... no.
I called him at 8:25ish, on my way home to see how things were going and he was the most distraught person I ever heard, telling me "I'm never doing this again!!!" LOL I thought he was going to break down in tears! He said "I spent 20 minutes alone just looking for the ingredients for the sauce... and what the hell is boullion!?! ...I left that out." haha
Omg. I laugh now, but last night I have never seen Collin more concerned and out of sorts. I assured him that everything would turn out fine! So, as soon as I got home I relieved him of his cooking duties. (He had already made the rice and veggies with sauce, all I had to do was the chicken!) I told him that next time I cook, I'm going to make sure he watches and helps so he knows where to find things next time! (But you know what, I sure am going to miss him cleaning up after me, when I cook!!!!!) (We take turns :)
What a silly boy.

Momma's don't let your babies grow up with no cooking skills!
:)

Slow week and loving it!

Tonight I don't have to cook because Collin and I are going out on a date! Yay! (I'm excited because yesterday's dinner was a bit of a disaster... MOLD was the main reason for that!) I think I should go get some fresh groceries soon!!!)

I didn't work out today, I'll go do a weight class tomorrow. I'm having a slow fitness week this week, and I'm loving it! I'm usually doing minimum one fitness class a day! (Often I teach 2!!) So this week I don't teach again till Sunday! WOOOHOOO! My body (and mind) just really needed this break. I'm catching up on work and other fitness paperwork. :) Joys!

But it's still cold outside. :( -10oC today! Blah.
